Overview

Martin Mere is a great place for kids to see animals in their natural habitat, with plenty of birds and other creatures calling the Mere home.

See the beautiful pink flamingos, the migrating swans or watch the playful otters as they swim, dig, feed and climb at this Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust centre.

Make sure you bring your wellies because there is lots to discover including the Wild Walk with events on all year for the family.

Head to the Harrier Hide for amazing panoramic views across the reserve. The kids can meander through a maze of wetland tracks, have a go at den building, plus canoe safari and youngsters can climb and swing in the play area.

Then later relax with a a cup of tea and a scone on the cafe veranda overlooking swan lake and listen to the enchanting calls of the birds.
