Wirral Transport Museum is run by Wirral Council with volunteers from Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society who restore old trams.

The museum is packed full of these historic vehicles including a fleet of tram cars from Birkenhead, Liverpool, Wallasey and even Lisbon in Portugal.

As well as trams, the museum is also home to old buses still in working order plus vintage cars and motorbikes.

You'll also find a model railway too - and you can ride on the trams with the first tram departing Woodside Ferry at 1pm running every half hour.

Gemma's Top Tip

The museum is currently being refurbished and will re-open in May 2018 with no access to the musuem at all - but trams will still run one day per week in February and then it's hoped they will run on Saturdays and Sundays from March to May.
