If you're looking for a quiet spot to spend the day with the family then head to Thurstaston Beach.
Thurstaston Beach is the first stretch of sand along Wirral's western coast on the Dee estuary and is a beautiful place for a stroll with the dog or a picnic.
And you can't miss the white-washed house known as Sally's Cottage which adds to the character of this spot.
Thurstaston Common and the Wirral Country Park overlook the beach, a long stretch of shingle coastland and sandy beach.
The Thurstaston park on Station Road boasts a designated BBQ area and its cliff tops provide fabulous views over the estuary.
There is also a visitor centre while the Wirral Way runs close-by, making it a perfect stop-off for those on a longer walk.
And if the kids love farm animals it's not far from Church Farm either.
There's also plenty of free car parking, a cafe and a separate sweet and ice cream kiosk.
