If you're running out of ideas for things to do with the kids over the summer - then why not head to your nearest National Trust property or park?
There are lots of free events and activities you can take part in (normal admission applies) especially if the kids are getting bored at home and you're looking for something different to do.
So here's some events that are happening at National Trust sites near you including Speke Hall, Rufford Old Hall, Formby and Dunham Massey.

Don't miss this amazing outdoor trail to explore throughout the holidays from 10.30am to 4pm, with different activities each week inspired by the lives of brave and bold women.
Take part in crafts, storytelling, sports, workshops and fantastic themed walks around the grounds. Discover monsters, create flying machines and track down dinosaurs.
Archery Taster Challenge
August 19 and 26, 2018 - 12pm to 4pm
A favourite sport for Kings and Queens and all those who lived in the era of Tudor England, archery was traditionally used as target practice.
Take part in archery taster sessions at Speke Hall, run by Bridgefield Archers Club. It's the perfect outdoor activity for the whole family so take the opportunity to learn a new skill and enjoy a family challenge.
LEGO Rover workshop
August 21 and 22, 2018 - 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm
Learn how to drive, communicate with and program robots in this fun family workshop run by the University of Liverpool's Computer Science department.
This workshop is best suited to families with children aged 7-14 but if you're bringing little ones, there'll be Duplo toys for them to play with.
This event has an additional charge starting from £4 for one adult and one child - for full prices and to book online go to the Speke Hall website.
What's on at Rufford Old Hall?
August 19 and 26, 2018 - 1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm and 3.30pm
Meet the resident magician for some close up magic. The Magic Show is up a flight of stairs in the Hayloft above the Shop. Free tickets are available from reception.
August 21, 2018 - 1pm to 3pm
Let the kids enjoy the fresh air and build their own wooden homes in the ground od Rufford Old Hall.
What's on at Formby?
August 18, 2018 - 10am to 12pm
Wiggle with the worms and search the sea edge for jiggly jelly fish and their friends. Wellies or jelly sandals essential for exploring! Ideal for children aged four to eight. Book online or call 01704 878591.
Treasures and Castles
August 31, 2018 - 10am to 12pm
Explore the shore, from shells to shark eggs, with a beach hunt along the sandy Sefton Coast. Adults go free, children £3, book online or call 01704 878591.

Midnight Garden - Adventure Awaits
August 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 - 10.30am to 4.30pm
Families dream big this summer and see where your imagination takes you with a trail around the garden every day and changing activities.
From storytelling, crafts and dressing up, to creating a giant picnic for midnight animals...the Midnight Garden awaits. House and garden ticket required.

BBQ, drinks and ice cream in the garden
August 12, 19, 26, 27 and September 2 12pm to 4pm
While away the afternoon with a barbecue, drinks and ice cream in the garden. Hewitt's bar will be selling locally made apple juice and cider, as well as Dunham Beer, wine, gin, soft drinks and tea and coffee.
Little Heath farm shop will be serving locally reared and produced burgers and sausages (including a veggie option) with prices starting from £5. Snugbury's ice cream will also be on sale with a selection of flavours.
