Newsham Park dates back to the Victorian era and is the home to Newsham House where Queen Victoria once stayed but it is better known for its haunted goings-on at the abandoned Newsham Park Hospital which was previously the Seaman's Orphanage.
Ghost hunts are often held it the now derelict and boarded up building, but if you're looking for something a little less frightening there is lots to see and do.
Set in 121 acres, there are plenty of places to picnic plus you can enjoy a spot of fishing, feed the birds or sail model boats in one of the parks two lakes.
There is also playground including swings, roundabout, see-saw, spring mobile, spinning dish, play panels and multi play area plus a sports hub for skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders.
If you're feeling peckish then you can head to the Lake View Kiosk to pick up some snacks and there's also toilets here too.
