There are some great things for the kids to discover at the Museum of Liverpool.
Follow Winnie the spider's trail or the Liver bird trail round the museum or head to Little Liverpool - a hands-on gallery specially for visitors under the age of six, which you can access by free timed ticket from the welcome desk on the day of your visit.
If the kids love trains they can see visit the Liverpool Overhead Railway gallery and sit in the train carriage.
Grandparents can also play When I Was Little - an activity for young children aged three to seven to play with older friends or relative on a visit to the Museum of Liverpool.
Children can borrow a backpack from the welcome desk when you arrive which contains activities to help you explore the museum together and share your memories, plus an album for you to keep.
Children are encouraged to ask their nanas and grandads about their own childhood and the objects they see together in museum displays, then write or draw their findings in the album.
At the end of the visit the album is yours to take home as a keepsake.
Backpacks can be borrowed from the welcome desk at any time, free of charge, for up to two hours, subject to availability on the day.
